John started his computing career in 1987 working for Cedar Design Systems (for over 6 years). During this time he gained experience in all aspects of software design, development and implementation. As a consultancy, the work was diverse, ranging from information systems for Government Departments, graphical exchange systems, energy software for the Department of Health to library systems for the media industry.
After that he joined Isys Plc as Development Manager (over 3 years), where he took the Keren MIS application from infancy to maturity. This was achieved with a team of up to 5 developers plus additional contract staff and outsourcing. This also included migrating the database to Oracle.
This was followed by helping to found Prism in the UK where he was Technical Manager (18 months). John was involved in setting up the company in the UK and gaining its first customers.
He then went on to form Almabyte Ltd.
